Lafayette IS a great place to live, but believe me, Monroe, Ruston, BR, and NO have people that are just as passionate about their home as people in Lafayette are. The whole point of changing our name from USL to UL was to make the point that we are much more than a regional school serving only southwest Louisiana. We want to draw support from all parts of the state. Constantly criticizing their homes won't do much to help win them over. Maybe you should get out of Lafayette occasionally and check out some of the other parts of the state. They are really not bad places to visit.

Big schools tend to pass up on these types of players. Players who started playing late as a junior or senior in high school but put up impressive numbers those years. And I couldnt be happier that they do pass up on these guys b/c they end up being steals for smaller schools like us. Brandon Stokley and Ladarius Green are some examples

I must admit, I'm impressed with the influx of transfers from big programs and hope this can trickle down to incoming freshman. The coaching staff must be doing something in a good way to get these guys to come here. Now, let's see if they can get on the field and make some plays!

The word I am hearing is that Cordian is too slow to play defensive tackle in their system. The defensive tackles have to be able to run.

Are they saying they didn't see that when they recruited him and offered him a scholarship?

The word isn't the word it once was when the circumstances aren't the circumstances anymore.

You may want to check with Cajun T on that one. His speed and athleticism for his size is one of the things that made him a highly regarded recruit out of high school. Not only has Cajun T made this clear, but I've talked to a couple of recruiting journalists who cover that area and they mentioned the same thing. I think LSU just wanted him on the OL while they had some others on DL.
