You are cordially invited to attend the Iberia parish sheriff's Office 2nd annual National Night Out Against Crime scheduled on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bouligny Plaza in New Iberia. NNO is designed to :1) heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; 2) generate support for and participation in, local anticrime efforts; 3) strengthen neighborhood spirit and law enforcement-community partnerships; and 4) send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Resident throughout Iberia Parish are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend an evening outside with their neighbors and law enforcement officers at this anticrime rally. This is a night for Iberia Parish to stand together to promote awareness, safety and neighborhood unity. NNO showcases the vital importance of law enforcement - community partnerships and citizen involvement in our fight to build a safer Iberia Parish.
Activities include, but are not limited to:
· IPSO: Neighborhood Watch Sign-up; Child Finger Printing, K_( Demonstration, Sex Offender Information, Victim Services Information, DARE
· State Police Demonstration (Roll Over Truck)
· SNAP: Domestic Violence Awareness & Face Painting
· MADD - Drunk Driving Awareness
· Attorney General's Office: Youth Tobacco & Stranger Awareness
· Fire Department: Smoke House
· Acadian Ambulance
· Wildlife & Fisheries: Hunting and Fishing Safety
· Door Prizes, Refreshments and many more activities
