I have a keg of Brooklyn Lager in my kegerator right now, but my favorite beer at the time changes with the seasons. Dogfish Head and Stone are by far my favorite breweries. _
A couple years ago for the Colorado game the wife and I went early and went up to Ft. Collins and went through the New Belgium Brewery tour. Was really one of the better brewery tours I've ever been on. I'd rate it just below Guinness and the Heineken Experience.

The story on how Fat Tire got its name is great. The founder of NB had graduated from Colorado State with an Engineering degree and was about to go to work for one of the local companies. He asked for and received a month or so before he had to start so he could fulfill a dream which was to ride his bike from brewery to brewery in Belgium. This was the early 90s and he brewed in college as a way to make quality beer drinking cheaper.

This was when the mountain bike was a new idea (remember it was invented in the Rockies) so he had his bike shipped over and he would ride it from place to place. He always wanted to talk to the brew masters and they would see his bike and always ask about the "bike with the fat tires." It allowed him to get more information and hints than he would have otherwise.

Fat Tire is a great beer, but I can't handle just drinking it day after day. I also don't like coffee or chocolate so most of the winter ales, porters, and stouts don't taste good to me. I still love me some Guinness on a cold day though.

When it gets closer to time if you need me to bootleg you something in from Missouri, let me know.

I'll wait until a couple weeks before the game and we can do information exchange then. I really can't wait for this game. I just hope we are undefeated coming in. That would mean we beat Tulsa (who I hate and hate playing against), got revenge from Troy for a few years ago, beat a horrible Washington State team, and beat Texas A&M. But this is our first road game of the year.

I had heard that story before. Very interesting.

Thanks for offering to bring some brew down. I might take you up on that offer.

Hey C-Charlie---No doubt that I would put the KdC against the world--I think that ya'll can add a little extra to the tent by something I learned at Nebraska---When we were t-gaiting some band members came up and played the UL fight song----VERY COOL----I am sure that your expert audiology guy can get the opponents fight song and play them when visitors come to the tent---Also ---I will sing along to Cajun Roll ON ----whenever asked to do so---My wife says that I am such a ham I can't be cured!!!!!

    David,

It sounds like you do quite a bit of traveling with OSU and I'm sure you have had some great experiences. I know you will have experienced larger crowds and bigger stadiums at some of the other venues within the Big 12-2 conference. However, if you walk around the tailgating area at UL and visit with some of the more famous tailgating groups I will guarantee you that it will be unlike anything else you have experienced at any other venue! Whatever you do, be sure to visit the Krewe de Chew and plan on joining with us in "Doin da Roosta"!!!!! Since this will be an 8:00 pm game, things should get really crazy, as we will have all day to get into the spirit. Some of us get to the site and start playing music and having fun by 8:00 - 8:30 am. 3 hours before kickoff we usually do the first of our famous Roosta dance to a Zydeco song called "You Can't Roosta Like You Used To". We do it once again 1 1/2 hours prior to kickoff. Because this is an 8:00 pm kickoff we may even add a 3rd session earlier in the day at around 3:30. In addition we dance, laugh and cut up all day long. It goes without saying that adult beverages are included in the festivities!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!

We look forward to seeing you and as many other OSU fans that will show up to have some fun with us. As CajunCharlie already mentioned, visit us at www.krewedechew.net to get a better idea of what a great experience ya'll are in for.

Does anybody know what the visitor's section(s) are in the stadium?

Technically just H, I and J on the new schedule cards/diagram. K-N are listed as Red Zone sections.

Usually most visitor fans sit in J, which is closer to midfield, than I and H.

Thanks for the KdC compliment. We try and make a visit to Cajun Field tailgating a memorable experience. So do the other tailgating groups. So, I would imagine that after visiting other sites and then returning to KdC and engaging in the Roostah dance, along with sampling more good Cajun fare, these Cowpoke fans will have a good idea of how we treat our visitors.

I'll contact our DJ to see if we can get a copy of the Cowboy's fight song. That's a great suggestion. Thanks.

I think feeding and sharing beer with opposing fans is good......but playing opponents fight songs is over doing the hospitality a bit. JMO.
