Another group at the time was convinced it was done to appease the NCAA. Another was that the AD thought a black HC would recruit some of the better black athletes we weren't getting. Regardless, he's suing because of race. He was hired because of his race. He wasn't even close to being the best candidate available. This entire saga is pathetic. It's pathetic of Jerry. It's pathetic for UL, the state of Louisiana, and black people that are truly affected negatively because of race.

His case is predicated on not being supported due to his race. The ship that sank as a result of this supposed "lack of support" contained everyone at UL. And it kept football under water for years to come. I'd like to know who sinks their own ship to spite the deck instructor because he's the wrong color. Any judge that doesn't throw this out, is a pathetic man of justice.
But how do you really feel?

After this lawsuit, and the way he scammed the state voucher program, this guy is right at the top of my list of greatest scumbags. And I have little doubt he uses that little church in Ruston to scam poor folks out of money Jimmy Swaggart style.

Lets not forget some of the shenanigans that were allowed in the locker room. I seem to remember a couple of boys getting beat up pretty bad by thugs on the team... no discipline handed down.

Justin Venable got one of his record setting 8 years of eligibility from the NCAA because of Jerry Baldwin's locker room policies.

What Z says is CORRECT!!! I was working at the university and everyone said sports hires would be focused around helping Kathleen's political aspirations. From that point, Raymond and Fossil sold us out. The basketball hire worked OK but Jerry Baldwin was a colossal failure.

Im sure there were very valid reasons why we chose Baldwin...

You may go back to sleep now....

Thankfully these 2 are no longer in charge. Amazing how quickly the entire athletic dept has turned around

Not true! It was the fans on the Sports Only / Cajuns Illustrated message board that sold us out. They just want to continue to blame saintly Doc A and his loyal sidekick Raymond for everything that went wrong rather than blaming themselves. Because that's how we do it around here.
