UNtruthful?????? Not at all--Nothing wrong with the coach telling him where he thinks the kid could best perform or help the team but maybe the coach could learn a little-----See Tim Brown's comments about Lou Holtz in today's DA!!!!!

Boomer, sooner or later this backfires in your face. As the coach, you are responsible for recruiting and progression of the program. If you bring a kid in and you are vague about your expectations for that player, you are setting yourself up for failure. He wants to play one position but we eye him for something else but yet tell him that we'll see how it pans out. We put him where we want him and he feels cheated or lied to for having to play a position he doesn't want to and it can get ugly. The only person blamed there by the fans is the coach as he's apparently the one responsible for the young man and his progression. A coaching staff has to have a plan for an athlete and be as honest as possible and trust their judgment and evaluation of the athlete. However, things always change and you can move them around later but kids have a much less tolerant view of entering a program and not knowing where they will play than they possibly used to.
