U.S. Sen. David Vitter issued the following statement in response to BP's announcement that they capped the well in the Gulf.
"The initial reports appear to indicate that we've finally turned the corner. BP has stated that they have capped the well and currently stopped the flow of oil in the Gulf. If this good news holds, we must quickly refocus resources to clean up our coasts and protect our marshes," said Vitter.
