A fire gutted the landmark "Nunu's Town Market" and rural arts center.
The Arnaudville facility burned sometime around 10 o'clock Sunday morning. Seven different fire departments rushed to the scene, but the fire was already burning out of control. Flames burned galleries, a café and music studio.
The daughter of the owner says she knew something was wrong when she noticed an open door before opening hours. She says she ran in the building when she saw the fire and thought that she might be able to put it out, but it was just magnified within no time at all.
Owner Rita Marks says "when you get kicked in the gut, you get up and keep on going."
