They may fall off. I may be totally off base, but I doubt it. We have our chance. We can either accept status quo (few regionals every handful of years) or we can nut up and get back to Omaha.

You’re right. It’s okay to expect to be a top 25 program. It’s also silly to say we outdo 260 teams. Virtually all those teams don’t have the history or resources to compete at an elite level.

Guy I work with is a huge South Carolina fan. He talks all the time about how "LALA" was the scrappiest bunch of hard nosed SOBs to walk on that diamond all year.

I wonder in Simoneaux is still capable of recruiting Nathan Nelsons and coaching players to hit like that team did? He is at a high school now, but he can't be worse than what we've got.

Simoneaux doesn't want to work that much. I am not saying that to be insulting to him at all.

Three of us went to the CWS that year on a shoestring budget. When we got there, none of the booths has Louisiana T-shirts, caps, etc. They all said that no one expected us to make it. A day or so later, the UL stuff showed up and sold like crazy; but some of the shirts had Louisiana misspelled & some of the hats had Lafayette on them and it was spelled "Layafette". We told the people their stuff was misspelled and they said, "no it's not, it was all approved by the NCAA!
