A WIN FOR B.C.: Teurlings Catholic senior and University of Louisiana golf signee B.C. Thibeaux added another honor to his growing resume’ Saturday, taking medalist honors in the huge Eagle Invitational hosted by Menard at Alexandria Country Club.

Thibeaux shot a one-under-par 71 to win the 17-team, 80-player event by four strokes. Runner-up Justin Lowe of Tioga, also a Cajun golf signee for next fall, finished with a three-over 75, giving an idea how tough the course played.

“They didn’t have it set up easy,” Thibeaux said. “The greens had to be a 13 on the meter, so I just concentrated on making sure if I missed shots I missed them on the low side so I’d have uphill putts or chips. If you were on the wrong side, it was three-putt all the way.”

Thibeaux hit only 11 greens during the round, but because of his positioning he had only 25 putts in the round and chipped in twice.
