UL Basketball Comment from Tony Korn Heiser

Guys, not sure if you catch the Tony Kornheiser show in Lafayette on ESPN radio, but this morning he was talking about the tournement and went on for a few minutes about how good the Vanderbilt vs. NC State game is going to be. Now I understand we're the little guy here who doesn't deserve any respect, but come on. To make a comment like that without even mentioning the fact that Vandy and NC State have to win.... Kinda reminds me of Oklahoma's football situation last year. Jason White wins the Heisman, then his next two games he looks like a JV QB. Oklahoma was mentioned as one of the best college football teams of all time... then they got their arses handed to them for the next two games. Why did this happen???? My guess is because they were looking too far ahead and missing the game right in front of them. The moral of the story is don't count your chickens before their hatched.

I think we are going to give NC State a hell of a game. We are a very talented team that's capable of great things (when we play together). If we come out Friday and play the way we know we can, it won't be so easy for NC State especially if they are looking ahead to Vanderbilt. I like being the underdog and I love not getting any respect. They'll never see us coming!!!!

UL Basketball Kornheiser has always been a pompous jerk.

I like Kornheiser, don't get me wrong.... but again, COME ON. You can't rant and rave about a game for five minutes that is contingent on two teams winning two games without at least mentioning it. But like I said before, this could be a good thing. They won't even see us coming!!!!

    Whoop that ARSE Cajuns!!!!!

bigearl- funny how everyone from all sides never feels like they're getting enough respect.

Go check out our board sometime and look at all the articles that say we're bowing out in the first round.

    Wolfpack Bulletin Board

Heck the front page of ESPN.com has this article:

    Cinderella Stories

You guys are the very first cinderella mentioned.

If it's one thing I can guarantee, it's that the Ragin Cajuns will not be over looked. This is a single elimination tournament. Our guys know that. Our coaches know that. Your team has proven too much this year to be thought of as a walk over.

And if I can say one good thing about Herb Sendek, it would have to be that when given the time to prepare he usually delivers. He has a career stat that I wish I could find, but it's something close to when given 4 or more days to prepare Herb's winning percentage is in the 90's. Unfortunately, during a regular season you don't have that much time between games, and on the flip side Herb has been criticised for not being able to make the quick changes during a game that may not coincide with his game plan.

All that said you will not be overlooked. Not by the fans. Not by the coach. And not by the players.

I know the NC coaches are pounding how good Louisiana is, but I think there is something about the number "14" that makes opponents relax.

    . . . at least I hope so.
