I would have to be 99% certain he'd call Arch first. Sendek has had a long standing relationship with the Miller family. Miller was an assistant of sorts on the staff last year. His older brother Sean, now Assistant Head Coach of Xavier, was on the staff until 2 years ago.

I would think he would get the most info from Coach Towe though.

Why the "messy Monte" comment? Why would a team that is the regular season and conference champion get no respect from another conference foe?

All I know about Towe is from his playing days at NC State. In 74 he was the spark plug on a team that went on to win our first National Championship. He was small in stature but big in heart. If you ever see the 74 Wolfpack team on ESPN classic look for the little white boy running like mad. He's a fierce competitor.

Our problem, however, has been holding on to the lead. We lost a 19pt. halftime lead to Maryland in the ACC tourney. We also seem to get out of sink for 5-7min. spurts and have long scoring droughts.

Doubtful on the fighting, he may cause a player to go over the edge and draw a tech, but since his incident last year with Maryland pt. guard Steve Blake(elbow to the head after a cheap shot from Blake), he has kept his cool. He just talks a lot of trash, nothing more.

thanks rebel, I think you'll find that most of our kind don't come in with the cocky, overconfident, nose in the air attitude that our brethren down the road in royal, and baby blue have.

Honestly, we've been down for so many years, and lost games that never should have been close so many times, that it's really hard to be fully confident in our team. We're also a different breed at the Engineering and Ag. school, than the liberal arts @ UNikeC or the private University of New Jersey @ Durham.

Good luck with the English, I'm still deciding on the best way to get Friday afternoon off without burning a vacation day. Maybe I'll tell them I have a RaginRash. :0

Just bagging on Monte's fashion sense (lack thereof). Dig at UNOfan. My respect comment comes from some of his post UL game comments over his tenure at uno. Just my opinion..

I think this is going to be a very interesting game. You guys are getting a lot of respect for this one, I don't think the Pack would look over this game one bit (I don't think we're good enough to look over ANYONE for that matter).

You will hate Hodge Friday, but if we win, you may become a member of the Julius Hodge Fan Club for the rest of the tourney. He is your stereotypical NYC "balla". He will do it all for his team to come out on top.

I disagree with a comment someone earlier made, this whole team is not Hodge/Melvin. Engin Atsur has been known to step up (hit 5 3's in the road win @ Wake Forest) and Cam Bennerman has been huge a couple of times (16 pts @ Wake) when Hodge/Melvin don't have their A-game. You might not shut-down Julius Hodge, but the best bet for you guys to win this game, is to shut down everyone else.

wolfpack- I thought the same thing when I read that. You can not forget about Evtimov as well. He is routinely scoring 12-15pts/game now. Getting his confidence in the 3 ball back has been huge. When healthy Scooter Sherill was averaging double figures as well.

Also, I don't think Marcus not scoring is as big as him recognizing that he is not scoring. If that makes sense. Many of the games we've lost were do in large part to Marcus not realizing that he just didn't have the outside shot working and let's get the ball to someone who does or take it down low and do some damage. He has some nice inside moves that he rarely uses. The Clemson and Carolina games come to mind. He wasn't even drawing iron most of the game, but he still kept throwing it up, with no prayer of an offensive rebound.

Sorry Cajuns, I sometimes ramble. The point is though we have many offensive weapons. We just have to recognize who those weapons are and not shoot our on foot by trying to become a one man show. Melvin and Hodge sometimes get out of the flow of the offense and start trying to carry the team. The majority of the time we lose when this happens.

not on the board, but be aware all cajun fans have heard about your team's ft shooting.. my bride who is not sports inclined has always scratched her head to why the fellows don't make them all.. a big plus for your team here.. although cajuns to me have been much improved at times, from years past..

You are correct, Mike OCain, our former Coach, along with Assistant Joe Pate recruited PR to State. Amato, as soon as he was told he had the job, hopped on a plane and went to see Rivers. Pate, was also the only assistant retained. Alabama, with Pate's help, has produced some really good talent.

Correct again, Chuck does wear the Oakley shades, and Nike doesn't take too kindly too it. The year before last we were 9-0 going into the Georgia Tech game @ home. Chuck had worn the white shades during this stretch. It is said that Nike pressured him into pulling the shades for one of there models. We lost our next three games. Chuck then basically says screw it and started wearing the Oakley's again. We one the rest of our games...including FSU and dominating Notre Dame in the Gator. The good mojo wore off this season though, as he did loose with the shades.

As far as McClendon goes...he's a beast...when he's healthy. He's had more injury's over the last two years than I can even count. Broke finger, seperated shoulder, hamstring...the list goes on. I think there was 1 or 2 games that he was 100% last year, near the beginning of the season. We've got two studs coming in this year that may help him not have to bare the full load.

Yes, many of the Pack do pull for the Panthers, but just as many have other pro interests as well... following past Wolfpacker... Tory Holt and Korin Robinson come to mind.

And as far as poor Herb goes, I don't know that he will ever fully be congratulated until he can pull off the big wins. In the world of the Wolf, a bar has been set. We have a rich proud tradition in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. But a decade of cellar dwelling and a half decade of mediocrity have begin to wear on us all. I like Herb. I've met him, and I think he's a great guy. I still have my doubts about him being able to get us over the hump, but hey, he achieved much more this year than I and many others thought he would. But if we do lose in the first round, no matter how worthy the opponent, I think the heat will be right back on old Herb.
