As of 10 AM Tuesday Morning Tropical Storm Alex is moving more NW and headed toward an eventual landfall along Texas coast close to Brownsville.
The impacts to Cameron Parish would be mostly above normal tide:
Tuesday the tide has been running about 1 ft to 2 ft above normal
Wednesday and Thursday the hide tides will could run approximately 3ft to 4 ft above normal.
No evacuations are planned at this time.
However residents in low lying areas should monitor the weather very closely.
Rainfall of 3" to 6" in isolated areas can be expected for the next couple of days.
All Residents along Holly Beach and Johnson Bayou need to monitor the weather closely as the high tides and wave action will impact HWY 82 in the usual areas along the coast
residents are urged not to drive through water as it may contain large debris and is going to be salt water not fresh water.
Cameron OEP officials will be monitoring conditions closely and residents should already have their plans in place and be prepared to act on a moment's notice if conditions change.
