Although Tropical Storm Alex, with its 60 mile per hour winds, does not look like it will be making landfall in Louisiana, Parish’s Office of Emergency Preparedness Becky Broussard said residents should not forget about the storm.
“They should keep an eye on it,” Broussard said Monday afternoon. “No one knows when it will turn west. Right now it is heading north, but it is predicted to turn west.”
When it does turn west, it is expected to make landfall in Mexico or Texas. The more north it travels, that is bad news for Cameron and Vermilion parishes.
