Every school in the University of Louisiana System is an "at" school. The city tag is not part of the name it is simply a reference. The only difference is that edict dictates that two of the schools in the system use the reference in all letterheads and signage.
AT Lafayette is not part of an official name any more or less than any of the other schools in the UL System.
Listed below is a portion of the University of Louisiana System bylaws. If you notice the normal tendancy towards common usage of names applies to the UL System also. In their own bylaws they call themselves "System". System? what is that? Also notice that every school in the system is refered to as an "at" school. Just like LSU is an "at" school.
