He'll probably be better off as an undrafted free agent. He can pick a better situation to get into rather than get drafted late in the second round by some bad team.

 Tyren Johnson refuses to be defeated after getting passed over in Thursday's NBA draft.

Instead, the former UL forward is ready to work even harder for a spot in the NBA as an undrafted rookie free agent.

Sometime in the next few days Johnson expects to accept an offer to play in the NBA summer league next month and parlay that opportunity into a pro contract.

"To be honest, I'm not really sad right now," said Johnson, who participated in pre-draft workouts with 14 NBA teams. "Everybody wrote me off in high school, and I proved them wrong. Everybody wrote me off in college, and I proved them wrong. . . .

Tyren Johnson's agent Brian Elfus has told The Daily Advertiser that Tyren will play for Charlotte in the Orlando Summer League and Sacramento in the Las Vegas summer league.
