GRETNA, La. (AP) - A former Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputy
has been arrested for allegedly obtaining prescription medication
by fraud.
Sheriff Newell Normand says 37-year-old Tracey Wine, of Marrero,
was booked into the parish jail Tuesday with one count of illegally
obtaining prescription medication by fraud and deceit. She was
later released on bond.
In a news release Wednesday, Normand said Wine, a 12-year
veteran of the department, resigned in May while under
investigation.
