ROCKPORT, Texas (AP) - Sixty-two brown pelicans en route to Texas aboard two Coast Guard cargo planes would be the largest release so far of pelicans rehabilitated after being contaminated in the continuing BP oil spill.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife spokeswoman Nancy Brown says the pelicans were scheduled to arrive Wednesday at the Aransas (uh-RAN'-zuhs) County Airport and be released at the nearby Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, about 175 miles south of Houston.

Brown says officials released 38 brown pelicans at the refuge Sunday.
