The disTurbinece associated with a tropical wave in the Caribbean is looking pretty ragged this morning, but Reconnaissance Aircraft are still scheduled to investigate later this afternoon. They'll be flying toward an area south of Jamaica and Haiti where DisTurbinece 93L is located. There are two other areas of significant thunderstorm activity in the Caribbean. One area is near Puerto Rico, while the other is farther southeast near the southern Windward Islands.

Computer models have been trying to pinpoint exactly which of the areas will become the dominant feature. The main "93L" area is in a region that has the right environmental conditions for development, while the eastern flare ups are under an area of increased wind shear. Wind shear tends to tear apart developing systems.
