A stifling sunny Saturday made for a lighter crowd at the first ever Mudbugs on the Bayou fundraiser, but organizers said any money raised to help children like 12-year-old Nicholas Badeaux of New Iberia, who holds the national title as the fastest 1,500 meter runner with cerebral palsey, is more than worth the effort.
