University of Louisiana Athletic Training Receives Perfect Evaluation
The Department of Kinesiology's Athletic Training Education Program has been granted initial Accreditation by CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs). This accreditation makes the UL Athletic Training Education Program one of only 245 such programs in the country at this time.
As of January 1, 2004, students wishing to gain eligibility to sit for the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) Examination, must have graduated from a CAAHEP Accredited Athletic Training Education Program.
With overwhelming support from the university, College of Education and Department of Kinesiology Administration, the Athletic Training Education Program faculty successfully completed a perfect site visit this past October with an unheard of zero non-compliances being found.
Final CAAHEP Accreditation was voted upon and granted January 31, 2004, during the CAAHEP Board of Directors meeting in Tampa, Florida.
The Athletic Training Education Program Faculty is comprised of Program Director Dr. Toby Dore', Clinical Coordinator Dr. Michelle Tarrant and Instructor Mike Dawson.
