Lady Cajuns Relish Finishing 16th

UL softball co-coach Michael Lotief admits that he and his players never get caught up in numbers or rankings.

But he hardly discounted where the Ragin' Cajuns (45-18) finished in the final national rankings released this week.

UL was 16th in the USA Today/NFCA top 25 poll and 17th in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate top 25. That tied the highest ranking all season for the Cajuns, who won the NCAA

Even with their bowing out -as they did- to the eventual National Champions . . .

The Lady Cajuns could make the claim -and it would be as good as any other- that they were the 2nd best team in the country at the end of the season.
