With standing room only, Mayor Linda Hardee welcomed everyone to the grand opening of Kaplan’s newest fire station last Friday while Kaplan Fire Chief Donald Meaux, later cut the ribbon marking the official opening of the structure.

Rev. Noah Langley gave the opening prayer, while Deacon Paul Eleazar gave the dedication.

Ground breaking for the new station was held in September 2009 with the total cost projection of $816,000.
