HATTIESBURG, Miss.— UL Lafayette’s golf team stands tied fifth overall after 36 holes at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Southern Mississippi.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (298-289, plus 11) combined for a season low second round total of one-over par and trail first place Southern Mississippi (285-288, -3) by 14 strokes entering the final 18 holes at the 6,892 yard, par 72 Hattiesburg C.C. course.

For the first time this season the Cajuns have three golfers in the top 20 heading into the final round of a tournament. Junior Marc Noel (74-71, +1) leads the way after finishing the day tied for 11th overall with a second round score of one under par. Tobias Winberg (76-70, +2) and Steven Pena (72-74, +2) both stand tied at 16th overall after 36 holes.

Cajun junior Craig Trahan (74-73, +3) finished the day tied for 21st overall while competing as an individual only for the tournament. Other Ragin’ Cajun notables include seniors Brett Ashmore (76-74, +6), tied for 36th and Doron Mommsen (78-76, +10), tied for 55th.
