  2. UL Football Just say no to friday games

I love North Texas, but Friday nights are for high school football. Friday night college games will kill the talent pool that feeds the college game. Texas high school football is sacred and even though this is a road game I am not going to support it. It will the first Mean Green road game I miss in 4 yeras.

Hey, you won't have to miss anything! It will be on national TV! You can have your cake and eat it too. What a great opportunity for UL & UNT!! Cheer up good buddy, it's better than you think! The game doesn't start until 9:00. You can see the HS game then catch probably 80% of UL/UNT in your easy chair while having a beer.

Two questions: 1.) What channel will the game be on? and 2.) How the heck will this kill the talent pool that feeds the college game?

    GEAUX UL RAGIN` CAJUNS!

    MGM,

Unless you are in a unique location, "Friday Night" high school football in Texas is now, Thursday Night, Friday night, and Saturday (day and night). Probably more a problem in smaller towns, similar to surrounding Lafayette area where its still more traditionally fridays. Hopefully, the local Lafayette area can work together to minimize the impact of this game being on a friday night and get some good support at the game. The conference and our respective schools are the winners if the stadium is full and we have an exciting game.

I think it is a great idea.

None of the networks will jump on the Friday game, so one game a week spread around the country will have zero impact on highschool games.

I'm just glad Louisiana can be on the cutting edge.

I also like the late start, if I have the same job I had last year I will only miss the 1st quarter.

I can imagine the attendance will be something like 10,000 first half and 25,000 second half.

    Turbine,

I hope you are wrong. More like 25,000 the first half, 30,000+ with the grass areas full the second!

    Hey, I can hope, right?

    Shof
