As you can see, the Cajuns were the second highest rated non-BCS team in the NCAA rankings. This is the norm for UL. Last year we were ranked 25th, behind Massachusetts (24). 2008 we were behind Houston (11). 2007, the first year the NCAA rpi rankings were made public, was the exception, as we were 6th (#32) behind Hawaii (16), Illinois State (19), Houston (22), Cal. State-Fullerton (23) and Fresno State (27).
I'm very proud of this program. As incredible as it was to get to a level of respectability, Mike & Stefni have brought it to national notoriety and remained there through hard work, intelligence and high ethical character. What's even more amazing is that they have done this with close to the same amount of budgetary money, while the BCS conferences have been putting more and more money into their ancillary sports. Just to show you at how high a level this program plays, here is a link to a site that lists the post season information on this year's NCAA tournament field. There were only 7 teams in this year's tournament that have been to more regionals and only 11 that have been to more World Series.

Is there any question as to how good we have it with Mike & Stefni? In my opinion, they are among the best coaches in the country in all sports, not just softball. I am honored to be able to support this program, financially, vocally, prayerfully. And not just because they win, but because they are winners, in the classroom, in public, in society, in every way. Carry on, Cajuns. You are the best.
