With adults trying to stay in shape amidst their busy lives, injuries are becoming more common.
One local athlete, Gaye Alexander, now runs marathons, after doctors told her she would never run again.
"He said ‘you know, your running career is probably done;' so of course I had to prove him wrong," she says.

After years of training, Gaye was eventually running marathons.

Then she had a setback: 2 years ago she tore a support ligament in her other knee.

Her physical therapist, Scot Jones, trained her in rehab.

"They have other things going on in their life, so education becomes a bigger deal because they have to continue rehab independently," he says.
