Louisiana nabs NAIA All-American transfer

LOUISIANA La. - The University of Louisiana Lady Cajuns soccer team has signed seven new players to national letters of intent for the 2004 season including Rose Clemensen, a NAIA All-American transfer from the University of Mobile.

Clemensen, from Stouvring, Denmark, was a 2003 NAIA Honorable Mention All-American at the University of Mobile and was also named to the All-Region XIII First Team. She Led Mobile with 35 points (16 goals and 3 assists), including three game-winning goals.

Three prospects came from Texas -- Kerri Luyties (Spring, Texas; Klein HS), Kristina Nadolski (The Woodlands, Texas) Erin Thompson (Plano, Texas). Luyties and Nadolski both played on the for same club team, Challenge Blitz.

The last three Cajun recruits come from California, Indiana and Kansas -- goalkeeper Kristen Malen from Hesperia, Calif., midfielder/forward Stephanie Lynch (Evansville, Ind.) and midfielder Lyndsey Winters (Wichita, Kan.)

The list marks the fourth signing class for Louisiana coach Dave Poggi since beginning the program in 2000.

The Cajuns are currently finishing up their offseason conditioning program and will hold their first spring scrimmage on Saturday, March 6 at Cajun Field.
