Yeah, this kid is a walk-on that replaced the starter after the season started. I don't think he had the benefit of strength training before the season started.

I don't EVEN see Michael Mayeux on the roster. I hope he wasn't pushed off the team by pressure from above.

Nelson's son has done an ok job so far, but I want to know what happened to Michael Mayeux.

I don't see Mayeux on the roster either, but he was on the sideline Saturday. The depth chart lists Edmonson as the 2nd string punter.

Pup, for you to even suggest that is a damn shame on your part.

Mayeaux won the job and was the punter at the beginning of the season. He punted for three games. He failed. Schexnayder was given a chance and has done a better job than Mayeaux did.

You know, not everyone has an ulterior motive when they make a decision.

Schexnayder has the job for now. And no, no one pulled rank.

    Damn.

Mayeaux is no longer on the depth chart, because, as the backup kicker, Drew Edmiston is also listed as the backup punter. Remember, we travelled three weeks in a row. They carried Edmiston as the backup to both positions.

Mayeaux is still on the team. He just lost his job.

Pup, be a man and say what you mean. No innuendos, please. Nelson Schexnayder did not get his son the job as the starting kicker. Coach Bustle is not the the type of person to be intimidated by anyone. That I can assure you. Schexnayder has, for the moment, won the job fair and square. If he should falter he will be replaced.

MAYEUX HAD A GOOD FIRST GAME,THE 2ND GAME AGAINST LA. TECH HE HAD TO GET THE BALL OFF FAST BECAUSE THEY HAD BIG RUSH ON EVERY PUNT,AGAINST K-STATE THE RUSH WAS REAL STRONG AND HE KICKED INTO A 22MPH WIND WITH 32MPH WIND GUST 4 OUT OF 5 PUNTS AND AVERAGED 34YDS. SCHEXNAYDER HAD A GOOD 1ST GAME AGAINST NO RUSH,THE SECOND GAME HE AVERAGED 28YDS KICKING INTO A 10-12 MPH WIND, IN THE GAME AT IDAHO IN A DOMED STADIUM HE AVERAGED 33YDS. EVERY TEAM HE HAS PUNTED AGAINST HAS BEEN A HOLD-UP TEAM (no punt rush). IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE SAME RULES FOR GETTING BENCHED DON'T APPLY FOR SCHEXNAYDER. MAYEUX WOULD HAVE NEVER GOTTEN THE HOOK THAT FAST IF NELSONS SON WASN'T BEHIND HIM. EVERY BODY ON THE TEAM KNOWS MAYEUX IS THE BETTER PUNTER AND SEES WHATS GOING ON.

ARE YOU AT THE PRACTICES? GIVEN THE SAME TEAMS AND CONDITIONS TO PUNT AGAINST AS SCHEXNYDER HAD, MAYEUX WOULD HAVE DONE MUCH BETTER.
