The best the about them is that they will all be back next year. Harvey is getting a year back.

  5. Default Storm-stalled FIU fears rust but at least can play

MIAMI · Barring any major weather disruptions -- or 24-hour newscasts filled with terms like "cone of error" and "eye wall restructuring" -- Florida International (1-0) will play its second game of the season Saturday against Louisiana-Lafayette (2-2).

The cancellation (Jacksonville) and postponement (Western Kentucky) have coach Don Strock worried his team might come out flat and fall too far behind.

"I am [concerned with a slow start] a little bit, I'll be honest," said the third-year coach. "I have never been through anything like this, and it seems like every weekend is when the storms are coming through.

"We set another record -- we played one game in a September -- and I don't think anyone's done that before."

After having its opener against Jacksonville canceled because of Hurricane Frances, FIU went on to beat Youngstown State on the road Sept. 11.

Its home opener against Western Kentucky was postponed by Hurricane Jeanne. The game will be played Nov. 20, pushing back a matchup with Florida Atlantic to Dec. 4.

The rescheduling of games and the changing of game plans is something the team will have to overcome with little margin for error as it plays its first Division I opponent.

I went and did some recon work tonight. Tailgaters is in the shopping center where West Marine is located. The place is pretty big and has a bunch of TV's. Pretty good looking menu. Confirmation has been made on the Sunshine Network, they have it. Now for the bad part there is a 10' x 35' panoramic view of LSUAMBR stadium, that game will probably be over by our kickoff. They are looking forward to a big crowd of Cajun fans and the game will be on (hopefully we can get enough to put it on multiple TV's). Make sure to wear your Cajuns gear. Post if you plan to attend. Oh and I'll be the guy drinking the high quality H2O with hops and barley.

Great job, WB! What variety of H2O w/h&b do you favor? I'll have to buy you one for your "hard work". See you there! Geaux Ragin' Cajuns!!!
