    UL Football Moats vs. Cobbs

I'm curious if this weekend's matchup with Moats of tech would be a good indication of how well we would do against Cobbs(UNT) this year. I haven't seen much play from either of these guys so I'm not really sure if we could even compare the two but they seem to be both very good. If we could compare and are able to contain Moats does is our chances of beating UNT this year better than previous years. Although I couldn't say that Cobbs has been the reason we haven't beaten UNT yet either. ....

I'm hoping those running backs Northwestern brought to town helped prepare UL for Tech.

  3. UL Football Focus crucial for Louisiana

There shouldn’t be any trouble focusing on this week’s game for Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns.

UL and Louisiana Tech first played football in 1910, and in-state rivalries always command attention.

Coach Rickey Bustle’s team also has vivid memories of the second game last year, when the Bulldogs came to Cajun Field and administered a 34-3 drubbing.

That defeat took the starch out of a crowd of 24,000, and helped take the steam out of the season, too, as UL stumbled to a 0-7 start.

In that game, Tech’s Ralph Davis broke six tackles in a 35-yard touchdown run that forged a 10-0 lead on the way to a 27-3 halftime score.

UL had trouble tackling in the first half last week against Northwestern State, but straightened that out after iintermission for a 14-7 opening victory.

They’d best remember what the second half felt like, because the Bulldogs’ Ryan Moats is coming off a 257-yard rushing effort in Monday’s 38-21 win over Nevada.

Tech has an absolutely mammoth offensive line, weighing in at 305, 317, 300, 375 and 327 pounds. The baby of the group, tight end Aaron Capps, tips the scales at 262.

UL football show to air statewide on Cox

LOUISIANA La. — Louisiana´s football highlight show, "The Rickey Bustle Show," will air to a statewide and regional audience this season.

UL reached an agreement with KLAF-TV (cable channel 17) and Cox Sports Television (cable channel 27) to air the show each Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. The first broadcast is set for Wednesday, Sept. 15.

KLAF airs the show Mondays at 10:30 p.m.

"We are pleased to broaden the scope of Ragin´ Cajun football beyond Lafayette," said UL Lafayette athletic director Nelson Schexnayder. "Cox provides us with excellent opportunities in the state of Louisiana and the south."

The half-hour show, hosted by Jay Walker, will now reach one million homes in Louisiana and neighboring states as well.

The Tech game will be on COX sports. That's channel 27 for Lafayette Cable people.

The Sunshine Network is only available to Satellite people. Direc TV, Dish Network.

COX sports occasionally picks up the feed from ESPN regional. Like they are doing this Sat.

The ESPN regional channels are the channels used by ESPN Gameplan. Sometimes local channels, such as COX sports, pick up the feed from ESPN regional. Sometimes they don't.

When they don't, the only place to see the games broadcast by ESPN regional is on ESPN Gameplan. Which is purchased through either your Cable company or your Satellite company.

Hope that clears it up for you.
