What is the status of Brown?
What is the status of Brown?
can't find him on the roster/depth chart.
I thought Brown was going to play this year. What gives????
"Scott Brazda, KATC-TV 3 - Anywhere from 7-4 to 9-2. A lot of it is that I'm caught up in the Bustle euphoria. I believe in Rickey Bustle but the biggest question mark in my mind is that offense. It's really more of a feeling, but the way they finished last year and the fact there are more Sun Belt games this year. I think they're much more on par with SBC competition than they are their non-conference schedule. Jerry Babb's got another year under his belt and I'm a big C.C. (Brown) fan and, if they get to 9-2, the offense will be the difference."
The "Dandy" one said that NWST would beat us this Saturday 24-20.
I've heard people say that Eddie Brown was going to play and I've heard the total opposite, which one is true, I have no idea. From the roster, I would have to say that he's a no-go......Man he could have been a huge asset to our already talented wide-out core. If Billy can muster up the role of being the "top dawg" on the field I think he can bring in 55 catches for about 750 yards, with Lewis hauling in an exceptional 50 catches for 550 yards. Hopefully Jordan Jackson will come into his own and prove all wrong with a stellar first season. If so, he may be the answer that both Brandon Stokley and Fred Stamps were wishing and hoping for when they played, which would have been a great possession reciever with deep threat capability to keep the double-teamed "eye" off of them. Well looks like the season will be here in about 2 days, look fowared to seeing about 25,000 people there hopefully more.........
This is just my opinion based on the few practices I attended, Brown is very talented and has great size. However, he seemed to have trouble with where to line up on several plays. That tells me he is having trouble learning the offense. Giving him a redshirt year is no big deal, if that is the case. Many talented players have redshirted their freshman season.Originally posted by bigearl

If he is not 100% I hope he redshirts. He would still have 3 years left to play. No need to ruin a very good player.
Darren Drago can still tick off the key plays, as if the game was six days ago rather than six years.
He remembers the big fourth-quarter catches, the momentum swings, the kick that won the game.
"That was the first time we knew we had something special," said Drago, then a senior fullback at Northwestern State.
The Demons would go on after that 24-22 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette to win the Southland Conference and advance to the national semifinals.
Two years later, Drago returned to Lafayette with the Demons, this time as an assistant coach, and won again.
He'll make a third trip in six years when NSU opens the season on the road against the Ragin' Cajuns Saturday at 7 p.m.
"Both of them were nail-biters," said Drago, now the Demons' defensive line coach, "and I don't see why this one won't be the same."
It is just the fourth time NSU and ULL have played in the past 25 years, after meeting 68 times in 70 years from 1909-78.
What the series has lacked in quantity in recent years, it has made up for in drama.

lets get use to it........drop the UL(L)and call it what it is please, Louisiana, perferred or Louisiana's Ragin Cajuns. thanks.
true, true..... what's your opinion on Jordan Jackson? I think he might be our go to receiver later in the year. You caan't deny his size and that mismatch against smaller DBs should be exploited.Originally posted by SwampHound
