I hope they did a triple-replay of the game winning field goal and the ensuing celebration in the stands of the students. I gotta tell y'all, the way the season had been goin at the point we won that game, it felt like we won the superbowl! I mean me and my friends were huggin and jumpin and goin crazy! I'm lookin forward to a much better season this year. Geaux Cajuns!

  4. UL Football #24 Lindon prepared to do his part

LOUISIANA La. — Unless someone steps up soon, Louisiana’s running back position will once again be a committee operation for 2004.

That’s not altogether bad, if the Cajuns can churn out 150 yards a game on the ground with a variety of players sharing the load.

But if it means no one is ready to be the answer, that’s another thing.

Senior Dwight Lindon is one part of the equation, and the former Comeaux High star would welcome the responsibility of leading the way. But he also knows the squad has several capable backs.

“In high school, I carried it 30 times a game,” Lindon said. “Those years were so sweet. I miss those days. We have a lot of backs, and each of us can play.”

Lindon totalled 228 yards and three touchdowns in 2003, with one of those scores an overtime plunge that kept UL alive in its four-overtime 57-51 victory at Middle Tennessee in the season finale.

He also played well in the spring and scored in last Saturday’s scrimmage at Cajun Field. But he also fumbled twice in that drill.

“I have to continue to work hard,” Lindon said. “I put God first in everything I do, whether I mess up or do good. The good days outweigh the bad.

“I know this can’t last forever. I’m just trying to have fun with football.”

  11. Default closed practices ?

What is up with the Cajuns closing there practices? This is unheard of. Are there discipline problems?
