Yes Babb hurt his back -a muscle i think- and was out for the last 3 offensive series.

Even though he was hurt, I thought Babb showed great leadership, helping in the sideline huddles. I will say this, a bye could not have come at a better time.

How true! I did think that Sniewski performed capably, considering the limited amount of playing time he has logged. It will also allow some of the other "walking wounded " to heal.

    An anomaly to be sure.

    Default Punting woes.......

Was it just me, or did or punting in the ASU game leave much to be desired?

  7. UL Football Cajuns get the plays that count

LAFAYETTE — As a University of Louisiana senior, wide receiver Bill Sampy had a solid perspective on last Saturday’s sometimes maddening 27-24 homecoming victory over Arkansas State.

The Ragin’ Cajuns led 24-0, then 24-7 at half, then 27-7, but weren’t sure of winning until the final play of the evening.

“The coaches kept telling us at halftime to keep our intensity up,” Sampy said. “In the first half, we had a lot of intensity. In the second half, I think maybe we relaxed.

“There are some things we could have done better, but we came out with the victory.”

Sampy has learned to appreciate the bottom line, something that hasn’t looked too healthy at UL since the school’s last winning season in 1995.

Defeating ASU broke a two-game losing streak and got coach Rickey Bustle’s Cajuns back to .500 at 4-4 with three games remaining.

They resume action on Friday, Nov. 5, with a 9 p.m. ESPN2 home game against three-time Sun Belt Conference champion North Texas, which won its 21st straight league game Saturday over New Mexico State, 36-26.

Despite the momentum gained from victory, it’s a good thing the Cajuns don’t play this week.

Yeah, this kid is a walk-on that replaced the starter after the season started. I don't think he had the benefit of strength training before the season started.

I don't EVEN see Michael Mayeux on the roster. I hope he wasn't pushed off the team by pressure from above.
