"how does a small town like Ruston even have a university..."

There are LOTS of small towns with universities around the country. You may have heard of some of them: Ole Miss, Auburn, Penn State, etc. Our opponent this week, Kansas State, is in the metropolis of Manhattan, KS. I don't think anyone will mistake that for the big city! When I went to Oxford, MS to see the Cajuns play Ole Miss back in 1986, it reminded me a lot of Ruston. Only with more money! In fact I believe the enrollment at Ole Miss is similar to Tech's, too.

come to think of it...there is nothing in State College, PA either. Ruston is alot smaller though.

what the heck?!? Are they tryin to jinx us by putting a NO Saints pic for our article? Dont' they know how to take pictures of our game and put them with our articles?!? By the way, the article doesn't mention the slow fat-a** ref who stole our chance at getting one last play off before time ran out. All I know is that we beat Tech, but unfortunately the scoreboard didn't show it.

    God Bless.

UL Football A Message to Our Fans

    Monday, Sept. 13, 2004

FROM THE DESK OF THE A.D.
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics Department and football program sincerely appreciates the support that was shown for the Ragin’ Cajuns’ football team by both its faithful supporters and student body Saturday night in Ruston against Louisiana Tech. Thank you!

It was the enthusiastic response from the thousands who made the journey from Lafayette and elsewhere that fueled the Cajuns rally and potential game-winning score.

“It was great to see Ragin’ Cajuns red in the stands,” said Director of Athletics Nelson Schexnayder. “I know our football team was truly appreciative to have its fan support cheering them on and believing in them.

“Though the result wasn’t in our favor, we hope that those who made the trip were left with the impression that this team will fight until the final horn sounds and that Ragin’ Cajuns football is headed in the right direction,” Schexnayder added.

The Cajuns next home game at Cajun Field is slated for Saturday, Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. against Middle Tennessee. We hope to see you out in full force for our 2004 Sun Belt Conference opener as we begin our quest for a conference championship.
