Where is Jarvis Murchinson? I thought he was still with the team.

I am pretty sure he is still enrolled at UL and as everyone knows he was pretty much the fastest player on the team. I don't know what his speed is now but when he was signed he was posting around 4.2 speeds.

If I'm not mistaken he was on the track sprint team for coach Veazey this past season. I don't know how well he did or not, but I do know in his Sr. year in Texas he was mostly a defensive player and also ran track, posting the 6th fastest TX speed in the 100 meters that year.

I know there were hopes of turning him into a receiver with that speed, but he may have been in the same class as former 49er Renaldo Nehemiah.

This is purely conjecture on my part but with his 4.2 speed he may have decided to focus strictly on track. If he did he will get the newest facility at UL for the remainder of his career, and I -for one- hope he flies like the wind.

Then again I could be completely off base.

Is B. Burkhalter, C. Rubin, M. Desormeaux and other freshman not listed above going to get a red shirt?

That is the plan. Unless injuries force them to play, they will be redshirted.

On the coaches show last night coach Bustle mentioned something about Desormeaux and Rubin perhaps redshirting

As far as Burkhalter is concerned I'm not sure. He might be in a green jersey if so, they might not add him to the roster till he can play.

BOP claims that Norman will be redshirted.?

I have yet to see any info on Hadnot. Coach B mentioned Vance and Burkhalter, but he did not mention Hadnot.

Why is Norman being redshirted? Is he injured? Also, I have heard that the coaches are very high on Hadnot and that he has been one of our hardest hitters on defense. Perhaps they want him to put on some weight, I think he weighed 190 or something along those lines. That is too light for the linebacker position.

Unfortunately, that problem is a recurring one at the Advertiser. I've run into it on MANY occassions in all parts of the paper, even the front page! They seem to spread the wealth pretty evenly with that one, so don't think it's a slight to UL.
