Cajuns need time No touchdowns found in first scrimmage of year

LOUISIANA La. — There was an encouraging lack of penalties in Wednesday’s first scrimmage for University of Louisiana at Cajun Field.

On the other hand, the 104-play drill was also devoid of touchdowns, so it’s probably a good thing that the opener with Northwestern State isn’t this week.

Coach Rickey Bustle and his staff wanted to get film work on as many players as possible, and that major task was accomplished.

“We were able to get a great evaluation from today,” Bustle said. “We didn’t have any turnovers, and that’s a big thing. And there were few penalties.

“You didn’t hear the (assistant) coaches yelling too much that the players were busting assignments.”

Offensive line coach Mike Gibson was pleased that quarterbacks Jerry Babb, Luke Sniewski and Michael Desormeaux walked safely back up the tunnel after the scrimmage.

“Today, the quarterbacks had time to throw,” Gibson said. “I think we were communicating well up front. The defensive line has been concentrating on getting pressure on the quarterback, so it was a good test for us.

“We also have a number of running backs with different styles, and we were able to see and react to different things there. And, we’ve yet to see Abdule Levier, because he’s had an injury.”

Thanks King, and the same to the Tigers. A friend of mine is a big LSU fan and has had season tickets since the beginning of time and has been trying for a couple of years to get us to go with him and his wife to a game. We're hoping that our schedules allow that this year. I'm definitely going to some UL games. This should be a breakout year for us!

    Geaux Cajuns!!!!!

I don't think he played yesterday. But I got there at 4 so I missed a bunch.

There are several guys in the media guide that are not part of the team then there are guys like deChad Ward that I have never heard of and are not in the media guide. What gives? Can anyone provide an updated roster?
