I would like to see Marvel at first. He is not very good in the outfield. Maybe First can be his niche. I cannot sit through another year of Dillon Guillory. Can anyone throw together some stats this past season with and without Dillon in the lineup? The stats will tell all.

I do not know why we didn't try and sign Stuart Turner from Eunice High, the kid was a three time all-state catcher, I hear he is tearing the cover off the ball at LSUE this fall.

Goulas has been really consistent the past two years at the plate and in outfield. So if anyone might be moved, it might be him. He has a faster release then Fuselier on his throws and is more confindent in chasing balls to the wall. But I think going into the fall, he is still the guy, in RF.

Marvel doesn't have the range of Fuselier or Goulas, so I don't see him moving either out of position. If Ovens bat is as good as advertised, someone will have to move or maybe they give him a shot at first.

Nichols showed he can play the outfield well during the fall and his bat wasn't too bad either. He really didn't get a chance to play much once he injured his knee this past spring.
I hope he is healthy so we can see him play a lot more in the fall.

As for signing another catcher, I don't see it. Unless someone leaves the program, Coach stated they probably don't have any scholarship money available. _
Thanks T. I was wondering about Goulas. Glad to hear he still figures to be in the picture in right field.
    Go Cajuns!

Petello will play. In fact, you can ink him in the four hole and he'll stay there if he stays healthy.

Zimmerman will help the team as well. I don't think he'll be a weekend starter but he'll pitch a lot I think.

Boomer, I've been to about 6 inner squad games over the past two weeks, Mike Petello can really play. He'll be somewhere in the outfield , (strong arm) looks like a corner outfielder, and one of the best bats so far in practice. This kid is great to have, were going to have to protect him with another bat. I'd love to see Poirrier in the 3 hole, Petello 4th and a hot bat batting 5th. Ready for the games to start tonight @ 6:00.

That would be because nobody really offered the kid even though he was a qualifier. Turner stated early in the process that he wanted to go to LSU Eunice. The Cajuns didn't offer and picked Strentz over him. I expect a lot of Division I schools to come back on Turner before he's done at LSU Eunice.
