Right, but his fastball isn't good enough to be drafted really high on just that.

Louisiana senior pitcher Zach Osborne was taken on day two of the the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Tuesday. Osborne was the 286th overall pick by the Texas Rangers in the ninth round.
I'm never surprised when it comes to the draft. Scouts loved that he has a "loose" arm, which means he has an easy delivery without much strain. Guys like that are more durable and can actually increase their velocity in time.
Callis told me that Marze could go between the 8th-12th round, but that he probably hadn't shown enough now to get big bucks as a draft-eligible sophomore. That's likely why he has dropped. Still needs to improve his secondary stuff.
With a big junior year, you're looking at a guy that could go really early in the 2011 draft and still have plenty of signing leverage as a redshirt junior.
Zach is on ESPN 1420 with Jay right now
Spoke with Zach about 10 minutes ago. Very excited about getting drafted by a Texas team.
Marze to Toronto in 14th round.
There goes Marze. 14th rd. Go figure another UL pitcher to Toronto
That's a good spot, I think he can work his way up 4-5 rounds after a year. I couldn't blame him for going pro though.
Talked about how he and some of his teammates got together and were watching the draft waiting to see their names. Said he's talked to all his family. His mom was really emotional. Very excited to go to Texas. Had spoken to the Tx scout right after seeing his name pop up. He's actually moving out of his apartment today bc his lease is up and he'll be headed back home to Houston and will be awaiting word on where he's moving next.
