Several months into their tour of duty in Iraq, some members of the 256th Infantry Brigade returned to Acadiana for a two week break.
"It's a great feeling, it's a good break, it's definitely exciting," said SPC. Ray Martin of Lafayette.
Among the handful of soldiers returning home Monday, were new fathers. SPC. Ryan Parsons of Jennings held his new son Keaghyn for the time at Lafayette Regional Airport.
"It's amazing, it's the better than just looking at pictures, it's the best feeling in the world," he said.
