According to this, Payton was no. 40 in the 1000 pt. club. I am pretty sure Daigle is.
    no.36 - Chris Gradnigo
    no.37 - Randall Daigle
Bureau was 40 pts. shy by my addition

not seeing who 38 and 39 would be... maybe Dwanye Mitchell and Chris Cameron? The stats shown online on Ragincajuns.com are adjusted in 2003-04 and 04-05 because of all the vacated games those two years, each player only has stats for games Orien missed...

Long has a chance to finish with more than 1000 rebounds. Only 2 Cajun players finished with more than 1000 rebounds. He has a chance to be #1 on the list. He can to get 2000 points and 1000 rebounds if he stays 4 years.

Yes. Southall was almost to 1200 pts once he was done.

    Here you go:
    #36 - Michael Southall - 1193 pts (2001-2006)
    #37 - Dwayne Mitchell - 1027 pts (2003-2007)
    #38 - Chris Gradnigo - 1015 pts (2007-2010)
    #39 - Randell Daigle - 1075 pts (2007-2011)

Career numbers at the bottom of these pages. Southall had 2 pages bc of the long gap between seasons. These numbers are the same on a couple of sites, so I trust them.

OK the 1000 point list (found in post 1 ) is updated. Thanks to the compilers

But I think there are new Hall of Fame members since 2004. Need to update that.

pretty sure I'd take this as my starting 5 any day

Not me, I would not want the headcases that Gradnigo and Southall brought to the table. i would replace them with Marcus Stokes and Byron Starks any day.

Man some of you guys crack me up. How many of you actually know Big Mike? The dude was not a head case, they were not required to go to class by Jessie. I know for one semester he passed 21 hours with a pretty darn good GPA. The kid was super smart and extremely talented. He just lacked the drive that just about everyone expected him to have.

He got his act together late, and he was never a guy I did not want on MY team. Glad for his late emotional maturation.

Southall was unbelievably talented, but was a problem during his time here, as was others in the Jesse era. Cedric Williams, the list can go on and on. I am glad "Big Mike" matured, but during his time in CajunLand, he was not very mature.

"Big Mike" Southall matured in his senior year. He was on the Dean's list one of those semesters. Becoming a parent probably forced that issue. Some of that maturation was probably due to Coach Lee demanding more of him off the court than Jessie Evans did.

Robert seems to coach like a pickup game where players are selected at random in no specific order and with no respect to chemistry and teamwork.

Maybe I am off completely, but that is my opinion after watching many years of Cajun basketball.

I know this quote was from several years ago but I believe it to be true. I don't think its THE reason that Lee failed to put 1,000 point scorers in the books though. I would put that on the fact that he was unable to get the key contributors to stay here long enough to do it.
