Only fitting for these 2 young men. Both guys were the co-captains of this year's team.

That would be one scary lineup!!!!

Congrats to Justin and Zach! Both VERY deserving of such an honor!

I would like to add that Justin did this in three games against Rice and Texas ... that is, he did not have a stat padder game vs. Rider. Meanwhile, of course Zach did his work against Rice.

Fontenot also went 4-8 in the tournament with no errors.

In fact, the only Cajun error in the tournament was in the B1st of the opening game vs. Rice. The only other miscue (but not a charged error) I remember was Fuselier taking a bad angle to the ball today vs. Rice, allowing the ball to get to the wall. Meanwhile, there were several great defensive plays in this tournament by the Cajuns ... including plays by Fuselier and Olasin.

Brian, looks like UT is well on it's way to making a deep run into Omaha. I haven't seen a club with this kind of pitching depth in a while. Rice had a good one a few yrs ago, but can anyone match up pitching wise with UT?

Nobody has the pitching quality and depth of Texas. UCLA is reasonably close in quality and depth (four #1's ... two of which are All-American caliber ... and a closer). Arizona State has a quality staff as well, led by Seth Blair and a solid bullpen (Lambson, Swagerty, etc.). The Sun Devils are the most potent offense of the three.

The 2003 Rice pitching staff was downright scary (Niemann, Townsend, Humber, Aardsma, ...).

A lot of good arms coming out of the West Austin area here recently ... Wade Townsend, Huston Street, Chance Ruffin, ... .

Better mold your boy in to one of those. We'll need him to pitch for the Cajuns down the line.

Congrats Zach and Justin, great tournament for both of them.

Working on it. Daddy is going to teach him how to throw a nice biting 12-6.

It's your duty to send him to Lafayette when the time comes, UT can eat it.
