Corn Maque Choux

I had never eaten corn maque choux before. Yes, I am aware that it is a sin for someone who lives in Louisiana. I found the recipe in grandma’s recipe box and thought it would be nice to try it.

It called for 12 ears of corn. I didn’t want to scrape corn off of the cob, so I googled how much corn is on an ear of corn. I learned that 3/4 cup is equal to 1 corn cob. I bought frozen corn and measured accordingly.

When I looked at the recipe, I noticed that it didn’t have meat or anything in it._I wanted to serve it as a main dish, so I turned to twitter for answers. I asked if anyone thought I should add shrimp to it. One of my “twitter friends”_recommended_that I add shrimp or other types of meat to it, and she told me that it is wonderful over rice or pasta. In my version, I added shrimp and served it over pasta. It was so delicious. I was cooking for my inlaws, and they loved_it.
