The reds and the specs are biting just outside Southwest Pass and as of today, fishermen will be allowed to venture into the hot fishing spots.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) Secretary Robert Barham reopened fishing and shrimping in state waters along the coast of Vermilion Parish.
That area had been closed for the last week due to oil found on a beach along the coast of Vermilion Parish.
However, Barham did not open fishing and shrimping 100 percent along the coast of Vermilion Parish.
