The owner of a family-run business in Branch, Gem Services, believes a natural product is the answer to cleaning up the oil that is lapping at the Louisiana Gulf coast and flowing into the marshlands.
To prove it, Virginia Cormier, George Cormier and their son, Brad, provided a demonstration last week for news media by pouring oil into a toddler’s swimming pool and soaking it up with an organic absorbent peat, called Bio-Matrix.
