Vermilion Parish fourth graders held their own when it came down to taking the LEAP test this past school year.
This year’s fourth graders did about the same as last year’s fourth graders.
Vermilion Parish had 72 percent of its fourth graders score basic and above in this year’s LEAP testing. Last year, 73 percent of the Parish fourth graders scored that.
Bottom line, 711 fourth graders took LEAP and 580 passed.
The scoring is broken down into five categories. Advanced is the best, followed by Mastery, Basic, Approaching Basic and Unsatisfactory.
