Cheeseburger Loaves

I chose to try this recipe as my first because it seemed strange. The recipe called for corn flakes. I was very interested to see how cereal would translate into making a_cheeseburger_loaf, and I was very pleasantly surprised. The only thing I did differently was that I did not use salt or pepper. I used Tony Chachere’s. What can I say? I’m a cajun. I cooked frozen veggies as a side dish.

2 cups of corn flakes, 1 egg, 8oz of stewed tomatoes, 1 tsp salt, 1/8 tsp pepper, 1lb ground beef, 3 slices of cheese.

Crush cornflakes and measure to 1 cup. Place in large mixing bowl and add egg, tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Mix well. Add ground beef and mix together. Shape into 6 loaves (about 4 inches long each). Place in single layer on shallow baking pan. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and place half of a slice of cheese on each loaf. Bake for 5 minutes longer or until the cheese melts and the loaves are crusty brown.
