As we worry about oil in the gulf our fears are increased with the threat of an active hurricane season. Since 2007 the State of Louisiana has waived state sales taxes on Memorial Day Weekend so people can fill their carts with flashlights, gas cans, generators-- the stuff for surviving a hurricane.
