not even enrolled to post there, '89. putting my daughter thru ul for her 12/09 degree has made me an honorary cajun fan, and i'm a'stayin', your eloquent "answer" notwithstanding.

They are both more deserving than LSU. Mississippi also has a stronger resume. You could certainly argue Alabama does as well.

Also, no school has ever hosted with a losing record in the conference regular season. I am not sure how the selection committee would explain a 14-16 8th place regular season team hosting ... especially one that also does not have a #1 seed RPI and other #1 seed credentials.

It also would make no sense for LSU to be granted a host before Rice. I think Rice has an outside chance to host ... and would certainly be in line before LSU.

LSU hosting simply does not make any sense on the basis of merit ... and these days (unlike the 80's and 90's), hosting is based on merit for 15/16 or 16/16 sites, with potentially a small amount of charity for a northern school that had a solid season.

I also believe that the sites will be announced before the conclusion of the SEC Tournament Final ... thus any decision regarding regional host sites is being evaluated now.

Just covering all my bases. I viewed UL as #2 if they advanced to SBC tourney and #3 if they exited early.

Lamar claims the auto bid for the SLC and USM beats Rice for the CUSA auto bid. Two more stolen bids (if Texas State earns an at-large, if not then only one).

St. John's eliminates Louisville (not good). St. John's will now play the winner of Rutgers/Uconn for the Big East auto bid. Hopefully UConn can win the auto bid ... but if not, we want Rutgers since they are on the bubble now.

I will update the lead post in this thread.

Maybe, maybe not. Looking at Texas State's resume, you cannot make a case for them being selected before the Cajuns. I dare someone to try.

And with the Bobcats losing, they are guaranteed to be behind us in RPI.

I feel as good as last Saturday night was to be a Cajun fan, it's equally as bad this sat. Girls loose and everywhere we turn there are at large bids being stolen.

I'd rather lose 10-2 than be LSU or Texas A&M right now. Arizona St got mercy ruled tonight, too. And Hawaii lost 8-0 to Alabama, and is now one win away from the WCWS. And they didn't have 20 hours to recover; they won game 2 of a doubleheader.

So to sum, we went BBQ and are still a lock for an NCAA Regional, and our ladies stand as one of only 16 teams playing, and only 2 wins away from the WCWS. It's a great day to be a Cajun fan. Tomorrow could be SWEEEEET for UL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
