MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee coach Steve Peterson considers UL right-hander Zach Osborne to be one of the nation's top pitchers.
That's part of the reason Peterson felt so fortunate that his third-seeded Blue Raiders beat Osborne and the second-seeded Ragin' Cajuns, 3-0, on Thursday in an elimination game at the Sun Belt Conference tournament.
Back on April 30, Osborne struck out 11 and held MTSU to one run on six hits in a 3-1 win in Lafayette.
"I told my team to compete against Zach Osborne," Peterson said. "He has really beaten us up."
