An Opelousas woman, whose deceased husband used to be a mud engineer consultant, hopes his journals can aid in putting out the leak in the gulf.
His name is Frederick Mayer Jr. but everyone called him the mud doctor. Mayors been dead for 24 years, but kept detailed records of formulas and ways to prevent and stop rig explosions in his journals. According to associated press, BP's most recent attempt to stop the leak, "Top Kill" seems to be working. They say chances are between 60 to 70 percent.
Mayer's wife hopes his records can help make it 100 percent. "They could get some knowledge from this. This might be a drop in the bucket it might not do them any good at all. I don't know. I'm just offering this because they're sitting here, suppose there's something in here that they over look," said wife Joan Mayer.
Mayer plans to send her husbands finding to BP within the week.
